Tucked away in the tranquil folds of the Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh, Serolsar Lake is one of the most enchanting hidden gems of the Himalayas. Located at an altitude of around 10,500 ft, the lake sits peacefully amidst dense oak and rhododendron forests near Jalori Pass, reflecting the sky like a mirror.

The lake is considered sacred by the locals, who believe it is guarded by Budhi Nagin, the mother of all Nag (snake) deities. The water of Serolsar is known for its crystal clarity and purity, said to remain clean throughout the year — a marvel of nature’s own balance.

The 5 km trek from Jalori Pass to Serolsar Lake is an easy yet captivating walk through forest trails, chirping birds, and occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks. Every turn of the path feels alive — the scent of deodar, the sound of wind rustling through the trees, and the distant ringing of temple bells create an atmosphere of peace and reverence.

At the edge of the lake stands the Budhi Nagin Temple, a small shrine surrounded by legends and serenity. Spending a few quiet moments here — watching the reflections dance on the lake — feels like time slowing down.

Whether you’re seeking a gentle trek, spiritual calm, or simply an escape from the noise of everyday life, Serolsar Lake in Tirthan Valley welcomes you with open arms and timeless beauty.
